Connecting Communities Globally
Marafiki Community International is a Kenyan, non-profit organisation, born out of the dream of a modern and sustainable Kenya. We believe that it is time for our people to claim their dignity and be empowered to become self-sustainable.
It’s a big vision, a big dream that we are working towards with the help of international volunteers who come to Kenya to offer their knowledge in different areas. Our volunteers always go home with the feeling of having received more than they gave, but their impact can be seen in all the schools, children homes, shelters and hospitals that we work with, as well as our own projects.

“Marafiki Community International was born out of a need no else could fulfil, the school at SIDP, 10 years ago. It has grown into a mission that is bigger than me, and anyone else that has ever worked here. It’s a dream come true. ”
What we have achieved so far
The "Marafiki Family" is a beautiful mix of projects and social enterprises built to continue our work in a more sustainable way.

Ripoi Primary School
We built Ripoi Primary School, with a current student population of 400, located in the middle of Maasai Mara. From learning under a tree to having a full grown school.
Marafiki Enkare - the water project
We have built the entire infrastructure in our water project that currently provides clean water to a population of 5,000 in Maasai Mara.
Not only that, we have started our very own water bottling company, employing women only, in Maasai Mara. Check out Marafiki Enkare here.
Southern Cross Academy
We built Southern Cross Academy alongside the local community. This primary school currently has around 300 students.
Our water project is housed within the Anyoraa Camp in Maasai Mara, beside the Ololaimutia gate. It is another social enterprise, set up with volunteer and tourist accommodation so that everyone gets a chance to contribute to our projects whether or not they are volunteering.
Voluntours Adventures - safari with impact
Anyoraa Camp Maasai Mara - ecolodge & HQ
Back in 2015 we knew we wanted to expand our network to include a safari and tours company that would offer good quality low cost experiences for our volunteers. Since then, we have taken thousands of people on adventures.
