Anyoraa Camp Maasai Mara

A sustainable Sanctuary

Anyoraa Camp offers a unique blend of comfort, affordability, and sustainability. Nestled in the heart of the Maasai Mara, our camp is more than just a place to stay; it's a testament to our commitment to empowering the local Maasai community.

  • Our ensuite cabins are comfortable, uniquely designed and the perfect place to relax and immerse yourself in the surroundings of Maasai Mara after your game drive.

Our cabins are built using plastic bottles filled with sand and have a beautiful door letting the light in. They are simple, with electric and hot water.

  • Stay at Anyoraa and visit our glass recycling workshop, plant a new fruit tree, take a stroll to our shamba or play volleyball with the local kids.

  • Want to know why we do what we do? We are happy to show you around and chat about the challenges we are trying to solve.

Anyoraa is the Maasai word for “Believe”. The belief that responsible tourism can be an incredible force for respectful and modern development in Mara was the force that drove us to set up an eco-lodge by the Ololaimutia Gate of the great Maasai Mara. If you are looking for a place to stay during your safari where you can experience first hand the impact of water, capacity building, farming and recycling on a community, then you have come to the right place!

  • We believe communities have the right to welcome tourists in their own terms

  • We believe tourism should only be a reality if the community’s basic needs are met - like water, healthcare and the ability to choose their own paths.

  • We believe in the richness of the Maasai culture and in their ability to improve it and change it as they decide as a community.

We have not opened the camp yet to the public, however, we have already hit our social goals as follows:

  • We found clean water and piped it to a water tower for the population to benefit from. 10,000 people now have access to clean water and the repercussions of that are amazing.

  • We have planted over 200 trees which are thriving!

  • We have built 7 cabins with plastic bottles… yep, you heard right. As a result we have cleaned the area of single use plastic bottles and given them a second life for many to enjoy.
